Hi @Ratman have you had any progress with your problem with AC86u and 384.6 firmware?

thanks

Hi @xulian No. I’ve given up since I can’t figure out what the problem is. I’ve used the AC68u to see the camera in local view, then add the camera to the cloud account. It seems that I can’t add a new camera to the cloud account unless it’s visible in local view first (meaning it probably isn’t fully available on the network or something until it’s visible in local mode). Once I’ve added to remote, it works fine on the AC86u but my initial problem was not being able to add a new camera to the cloud / remote mode unless it was visible in local mode first.

[UPDATE]

I've figured out what was causing a problem. It seems that if you use AiProtection to 'fix' any security issues after a scan (i.e. disable UPNP), then somehow it seems to permanently block UPNP even if you enable it under settings and it shows as enabled. The reality is that UPNP is either not enabled or is intermittent (hence works during initial boot process - or maybe AiProtection doesn't start for a few mins).

I've reset to factory settings and did not load from backup settings (tried that and problem still persisted). After a reset I have enabled UPNP and when I scan in AiProtection I see one risk and that is UPNP is enabled. I leave that as is and I now have no problems with seeing the D-Link Cameras within the app in local mode.

Maybe a bug in how AiProtection works to secure / lock down 'holes'.

Hi @Ratman

After upgraded to latest 384.7_2 (this time in a new RT-AC86U) I'm unable to add my 2670L as although mydlink lite App is able to detect it, at the end of the process it cannot confirm camera wifi settings and it finishes in error. In any case I can access the camera web interface by it's IP or default DNS name and watch and configure it, but it's not included within the App controls so it doesn't launch movement alerts.

Will check factory reset and UPNP settings when I have the time, but in any case I'm not very UPNP friendly, In my view it's a security issue having it ON.

I’ve faced similar / same problems with trying to add camera to the app. I could also access the web config page but not add to the app (WiFi settings would also finish with an error). In my case, as soon as my UPNP problem was solved the app can very quickly find and add cameras. If you’ve used AiProrection to disable UPNP, then even if you manually switch it on again it still won’t work. AiProtection seems to do something more than just switch off UPNP. It somehow kills it completely.

I also don’t like the idea of allowing UPNP but some of my other devices don’t also work without UPNP so I’ve no choice now.

You could enable UPNP, add the cameras (and connect to cloud/remote) and then disable UPNP again (you just wont get local view, only remote view).

Also, if you’ve got access to two smart phones, then try enabling personal hotspot on one of them, connect the second phone to that hotspot, then use the D-Link app to see if you can add the cameras to the app by using the WiFi settings for the hotspot. It should connect fairly quickly. If you still face errors then a reset on the cams maybe needed.

I performed a full factory reset with UPNP enabled by default and the camera keep refusing to be included in the list within the App, so there should be something else other than UPNP and AiProtection.
