New Around Here
Hi,

Basic information about my devices, system and services:

1. Win 8.1 Pro
2. Sharing Cable Internet in my building, no dedicated ADSL line, not very fast but around 20 MB/S (PPPoE)
3. Astrill VPN with StealthVPN & Router Pro addons
4. Buffalo WZR-HP-AG300H (Running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (06/23/14)
5. Asus RT-AC66U (VPN Router) (Running Merlin RT-AC66U_3.0.0.4_374.40_0)
6. Location - China

Astrill on Asus working fine with all of my devices while connected directly to the internet line. Astrill in ON all the time on Asus, but sometimes I need to use my PC & other devices on the regular network means without VPN to access some local apps. Therefore I want to put Buffalo for the regular network and Asus for VPN.

Buffalo is on 192.168.1.1
Asus is on 192.168.2.1

I've already tried making it (Asus) as Access Point it was working fine, but I was unable to enter into its GUI to TURN ON Astrill or to change any settings. If I cannot use it making Access Point without VPN then it's no use for me.

Here I need some technical help, can anyone suggest me how can I configure it.

Thanks in advance,
Aric

Although I don't have answer to your question, I am also interested if it would be possible to make it work. And if not which AP would support built in VPN...

Now when I am thinking about it, it might actually be better if you would use Asus as a router & Buffalo as AP? You could also buy some cheap compact AP (e.g TP-Link TL-WR702N) to achieve what you want to do.

Astrill desktop app allows you to exclude certain apps or browsers from passing through VPN. So for instance you can exclude Firefox and use it for accessing the local content you are talking about.

Just double NAT your Asus behind your other router and leave it in the router mode. Works fine for me.

if it's in access point mode then it's not performing DHCP. And since it's a different subnet than your DHCP serving router you'll have to manually enter static IP on your computer in the proper subnet. At least that's my guess on what happened there.
