I went from a Linksys E3000 with DDWRT to an Asus RT-AC56U, I have a 2tb seagate Hard Drive, and was formatted to Ext3 using Ubuntu. This Hard Drive used to be connected to the E3000, now I plugged it to my new RT-AC56U, I don't seem to have admin permissions for the folder or files created when it was connected to the E3000. I do for any file or folder created when connected to the Rt-AC56u.

I already updated to the newest asus Firmware and to then to the latest Merlin Build.

I was getting this error with the asus firmware:
/usr/sbin/app_fsck.sh: eval: line 1: fsck.ext4: not found

With the Merlin Firmware:
I would scan the hard drive for error and stays at 40%.

I going to do a Factory reset because I didn't when I installed the Merlin Firmware and see what happens.

I don't want to install DDWRT to the RT-ac56u. I want to reformat to Ext4 but I don't have another large Hard drive to transfer my files

Does anyone know a solution.

I don't know solution but you should do a port scan and see if your port 445 is open.

I fixed it! connected the hard drive to Linux mint and change the permission to all files manually. and the error = /usr/sbin/app_fsck.sh: eval: line 1: fsck.ext4: not found, doesn't come out in the merlin build.

DDWRT becomes the owner as root and gives read and write permission to the owner only, Asus makes the folders wide open with read and write permission to group and owner and file access (nobody as owner and nogroup for Group).
