I am using an Asus RT-AC68R with RMerlin in front of a Verizon supplied Actiontec MI424WR. The Actiontec is in bridge mode and is necessary to send TV guide and On Demand data via coax to the FIOS DVR and other FIOS clients. The setup is working well, but when the Asus is running an openVPN client, the guide and on demand data is lost. Does anyone have a solution for this problem. I woulld prefer to just leave the openVPN client active all of the time. thanks
Follow up information: The Actiontec wireless endpoint continues to operate when the Asus is running openVPN, only the coax output is affected. Therefore this appears to be an Actiontec issue rather than an Asus issue.
Further follow up: I have resolved the issue by using the reroute traffic option on the Asus router. The STBs are routed to the ISP and my computer is routed to the VPN.
