Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_51729 (2025/02/14)

Anyone tried to export a list of devices from the Network page, view, and have English set as language. The clientlist.csv is in Chinese. Can anyone confirm?
My ClientList.cvs export list is in English from the General > Network Map > View List > Export.

Thanks for that. I opened it with LibreOffice and it appears as Chinese. If I save it as a .txt and open it with a text viewer it's in English. How strange. Looks like a bug in LibreOffice.

As a confirmation of your bug in LibreOffice, I opened the CVS file using my Office 2021 Excel.

Confirmed here: the exported Client List is fully readable in English when I open it directly (double-click) with Excel 2019, also a Text editor shows plain English.

@wouterv I was just curious if you could confirm that Custom Icons still works on your RT-AC68U with the latest 386_51729 firmware, I know you said you're not overly concerned by it but was wondering if another owner has no such issues?

First, thank you very much for the latest update.

When looking into the old manual there was an option to toggle the WPS button to WIFI on/off instead. I believe it was in the Advanced Settings -> Wireless -> Professional tab. Would it be difficult to add this back into the next update?

Also I miss the option to set the Beacon Interval to 3000. As you know the max allowed now is 1000. Would it be difficult to change this?

Thanks,
Hekja

The router is End-of-Life. This is perhaps the last update for it.

Most like not user changeable outside of validated range.

It seems to work for you according post #18.
Indeed, I don't care about Custom Icons, why do you need more proof the function is not broken?

@wouterv Yes you are right, I just figured that since I just did a dirty upgrade to 386_51729 there could be some remnants from the previous 386_51722 firmware & as @Tech9 mentioned his RT-AC66U B1 with the latest 386_51729 firmware broke Custom Icons functionality.

Updated my RT-AC68U. All fine. This 10yo beast is still running strong using Movistar Triple VLAN profile.

Excuse me.....?! There a way touser RT-AC68U with vlan? how?!
I would love to create 2 different WIFI SSID for 2 VLan but I never saw that option anywhere.

Excuse me.....?!

You are confusing VLAN support on the WAN side (many routers have it) with VLAN support on the LAN side (few have it). Asuswrt has the former, but not the latter. If you need VLAN on the LAN side current options are: 1) FreshTomato firmware, with GUI; 2) Asuswrt-Merlin firmware, with custom script.

If you are asking about creating a VLAN on the LAN side of the router, it might be possible with the RT-AC68U. See the following discussion/tutorial:
Otherwise, as already suggested you may need to look at using FreshTomato. Or consider buying a newer router that supports LAN side VLAN's in it's stock firmware. There are several Asus routers that support LAN side VLAN's (Guest Network Pro) in the stock 3006 (and Asus-Merlin 3006) firmware.

This one is better:

Many thanks! Will check your suggestions!
I need to plan before because I have 2x RT-AC68U in mesh, with a lot of rules and etc.

If possible, regarding the question for "1) FreshTomato firmware, with GUI; 2) Asuswrt-Merlin firmware, with custom script."

-I have 2 routers in imesh connected by cable
-Usually around 40 devices online between them (wireless and lan both sides) - I reboot it maybe 6 to 6months :)
-Use the manual IP assigment (can't understand the 64 limit)
-Use DDNS from asus
-Some port forwarding
-VPN as server and as client
-Integration with homeassistant

Can I restore my current settings to those 2 firmware options?
For those utilies I mentioned, and adding the vlan support on the LAN side, and creation of at least 1 more SSID (2,4 or 5)....

Which would you recommend the most?
@Tech9 @bennor

Can I restore my current settings

Restore - No. Recreate - Yes. Best approach - replace with hardware with something matching your needs out of the box.
