In this fw i loosing my AC-68U node.
After adding the node correctly, it disconnects after a while (so far the node uses to connect to the router the 5GHz band, now after adding it use 2.4 and the signal is weak (despite being in the same room for test.), but instead of switching to 5GHz, it disconnects and spam continous wlcevent in syslog for node's 5GHz
After added node

IMO not normal behavior

PS. I back to FW_RT_AC68U_3004_386_46065 for node and everythink work ok,.

Yep, this new firmware is bricking AIMesh setups. No matter what I try. Seems I need to revert back on all of my nodes.

There is always something bloody obvious that a bare bones QC would have exposed wrong with this router's firmware, isn't it? What the actual f**** is going on over there at the Asus engineering department?

Does this version improve 2.4 stability for some of you guys, or is it the same with it dropping for good every 1-3 days needing a manual reboot in order to fix it?

perhaps it's because of the node's firmware is newer than the main router's firmware?
cause ASUS didn't release 48xxx for AX model yet.

Welcome to the forum @bone1022.

Who is your rant directed towards? Asus doesn't monitor these forums.

Direct any constructive criticism directly to them via the router's GUI.

And if you haven't performed a full reset and minimal/manual configuration of the new firmware (after you flash it), you haven't fully tested it.

Hello folks,

are there any news related to the problem, that adding nodes will fail.

The same behavior as Vant here.

2x ac86u.

What have you done to solve the problem? Downgrade of the firmware but accept that security gaps remain open?

Greetings

Hello,

When I try to connect my PC to TV with wireless display I'm only able to do it immediately after router restart so I think it's a router issue. Can it be some setting on the router the cause of the problem?

Wifi password is not syncing to AiMesh nodes after this firmware update. When will this be fixed?

First of all, you are both posting in a 7 month old firmware thread. I suppose you are talking about the latest, in which your requests belong there.

Secondly, the way you contact Asus about an issue is to check the boxes and attach a log through the report function in the Official AsusWRT WebIU - Asus does not not monitor these forums.

Third, WiFi passwords probably never sync to nodes... authentication should be performed on the router, yes?

Describe the problem.

Older boy with chronic diseases... needs more rehab time.

Its more that all AC routers are no longer a high priority for ASUS whereas previously the AC86U was an ASUS darling for a while. Anyone who is addicted to frequent OEM firmware updates should move over to an AX router. The good news though is that ASUS is still accommodating the AC86U in the binaries they are providing to Merlin.

About once a month I find myself thinking that I should consider getting an AX86U, but then I remind myself that my AC86Us have performed flawlessly for many years with excellent performance.

I have both to compare. AC86U does better job to AC clients. You won't be impressed much. Better wait for AX86U Pro with updated CPU/Radios.

The AC86U is on sale now for $120... the AX86S for $180... lowest US prices I've seen.
