Yes, this is most likely the exception rather than the rule as the RT-AC86U has hit EOL list — don't get used to it. This clearly shows the severity of the vulnerablities that were addressed.

Yeah, im aware its EOL...but wont update unless i have to...most of my devices are AC and will not take advantage of any newer speeds from AX or BE.

The updates have slowed down since 2022 when it received 3 updates.
Then in 2023 it received another 3 updates.
And now for 2024 we have 2 updates.

I'm planing to upgrade, but BE86U is double the price of AX86U Pro and it's even missing the 6GHz band.
I might just go with AX86U Pro for now and later upgrade to BE86U after it comes down in price in 1-2 years or maybe there will be better options by then.

Haven't been able to update the signature since this update, always failed. Firmware or Trend Micro issue? Anyone else?

Same here (and on several other routers that I manage remotely) running Merlin firmware, but I don't know the reason for the failure. Guessing that it is Trend Micro or Asus web server issue as opposed to firmware.

Probably a problem on their side (it happened before). I'll poke their engineer reponsible for the Trend Micro feature.
