ASUS RT-AC86U / intel AC8265

Having "problem" with ASUS RT-AC86U (upload/lan speed)
5G (only 5G router in neigborhood if i scan network)

2.5 meters from router clear sight. signal quality (995) connection speed "866".

Copy from other PC/NAS to device (Lenovo T570) using Intel AC 8265 card: latest 20.20.2.2 drivers
result 50-40 MB/sec

Copy from Notebook - to any device on LAN (1G ethernet connection) max upload speed is 12-14 MB/sec

Tried booting Live Ubuntu 17.10 which give same results so no Win10/driver problem.

is this max upload speed or is something wrong with router/drivers ?
I already replaced Intel 8265 card with "new one" which give me same result..

old notebook with 6300 AGN card has upload speed of 24MB/sec (ok it has 3 antennas but ???) mac connection speed od 434...

Can someone help / explane ?

Try again but with Airtime Fairness, Multi-User MIMO & Universal Beamforming disabled.

In Device Manager make sure you disable Throughput Booster. On my AC7265 it was totally destroying throughput.

Throughput buster is disabled by default on 8265

Hmm.. only with ac68u.. with identical upload speed result..

Does someone using intel 8265 card with AC68u or AC86u ? What is your upload speed from PC to another device on LAN or wifi.. or internet if you have enough upload speed to measure it..

Have you checked the possibility that the T570 has a slow read performance? Normally, "read" is faster than "write", but it may be worth checking by reading from a known fast SSD or USB3 memory stick. Otherwise, I suggest continuing to explore the AC8265 settings. I had one device that would not communicate at full speed until I changed a number of items in the device wireless card settings.

I have same Intel 8265 build into a PCI-e card with BT-support over USB2.0 and 2 external antennas.
Works fine here between 8265-wifi to other PC with 1GB-LAN or to DSL with full speed in both directions but using Win10x64 Intel driver 20.10.0.6.

quite far away from router 10m from upper floor connection speed varying 260-390 and 1GB file in 50s up and 40s down both 2,4 and 5G.
2,4G down/up: ~ 23-25/18-20 MB/s
5G down/up: ~ 23-25/17-19 MB/s

speedtest.net on 230/30 line:
2,4G: 184.70 / 29.39 Mbps
5G: 187.80 / 27.08Mbps (up always clearly under full speed)
