Seems that since AMTM was incorporated into Merlin I have not had good success with the firmware.

amtm is nothing but a shell script that won't do anything unless you connect over SSH and manually run it. It involved zero code change at the firmware level.

Sorry, but I was just establishing a timeline. Guess I should have said that my problems began on AC86U when 384.15 was released.

Sorry, that was not a fair comment. I was running an AC66U_B1 when AMTM came out on 384.15. A week later I got the AC86U, upgraded to 384.15 and began having the occasional WAN connection and other issues. I usually have plenty of time to "test" things so I keep trying. I am usually an optimist and hope for things to work pretty good. And for the most part Merlin does. Recent Asus firmware seems to be better, though.
I am in the high risk group for COVID 19. So if I suddenly stop posting you know what happened. That is why I need to have a router for my family that will keep working if.....
