ASUS RT-AC87U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.6117 BETA

Asus (finally!) upgraded miniupnpd, however in doing so they also reverted various logging tweaks. There's also an additional log tweak that's required for the RT-AC87U to prevent the message you are seeing (I fixed that in my FW a few months ago).

In short: just ignore them. They are annoying, but they aren't a problem.
New merlin release soon based on this version? :)

Why? I've been on miniupnpd 1.9 for over a year now.

Asus does not release source code to their beta releases, so I can't work with that. And the 6065 source code is not available for the other ARM models - this is essential in this case, as they upgraded the SDK - meaning I need the new wireless drivers for each models.

Why is there another beta? This is now two beta's in a row and if there are fixes in this multitude this latest version should be a final not a beta. How long before a new stock firmware that is a final? Anybody know? No I do not want merlin either, just firmware from Asus.

AFAIK there's no such a rule for numbers of betas. You could see beta 20, 30... Until the developers consider it stable enough to release as stable and not before. See the bright side, it's a open beta, they could just keep testing internally and you would not even know it exists.

Anyone using this beta able to access TrafficAnalyzer_Statistic.asp while logged into the router?

Oh, not specifically for the miniupnpd, was more just wondering if there would be a new release soon based on one of the more recent versions. Even if it's just with the new login screen, or a version check button for the merlin releases or something. I dunno, I like updates, and the ones from you work ;)

I'm having trouble with 5Ghz again with this firmware. It gets really slow after about a day of use. 6065 seems to work better for me. The problem only affects my Macbook Pro (early 2011) though. Very strange.

I released alpha builds based on 378_5123 only a week ago (378.54 alpha 4). This is currently the newest code from Asus that I can use.

Quick question guys. When i install a firmware. Im on 5587 do i need to update first then after do a Full hard reset?

usually, i performed a full reset after the firmware upgrade, but latelly, i did it before and after, to be sure that everything will be ok...

Yes, plus ensure there's no usb storage attached while updating

Am I the only one who has UPnP disabled and the Router Security Assessment still says its not disabled (no)?

I'm now on my 3rd reboot since installing this 2 days ago. Today, 5Ghz because unusable across all my devices. I think I'm going back to 6065 for the time being.

Which devices are you connecting? Because it's known it has issues with some Samsung devices.

I've been using the following on 5Ghz:
  • Macbook Pro (early 2011)
  • iPhone 6+
  • iPad Air
  • iPad 3
  • One Plus One
  • Nvidia Shield Portable
  • Nvidia Shield Tablet
The only Samsung device I have is a Galaxy Tab 4, but that connects to 2.4Ghz.

For the iOS devices do you still have beamforming disabled, right? Because enabling it I still have problems

Hey sentinel, I see that you have an AC87U and N66U. Have you tried the N66U in bridge mode with the AC87U as primary router? I keep getting disconnects on 5ghz, I want to know if its an incompatibility issue or hardware problem.

Now I have them both managing different networks, but I'll bridge them during the weekend and let you know.
(Please send me via pm the firmware versions you are running in both devices)
