Just went up to $279.99 at best buy.

Uh, because they are the only ones to have it for the next month or so.I noticed this too. Why the heck would BB mark up the price after 1 day of release?
All that's available until then is the functionally identical RT-AC87R from Best Buy.
Which is what I purchased 2 days ago. Why the model number distinction if it's functionally identical?
And, of course, resold units on eBay at stupid prices....
They expect to work out most of the bugs before clients can actually use the full potential.
The client devices in and around my home are 802.11n, so my RT-N66U is sufficient. What in 3 to 5 years? AD25,000 routers will be out by then.
Only ASUS can answer for sure. But they stated in another thread that the first client for the AC87 will be out next month. Can someone tell me what 4x4 adapters Asus used for testing before releasing the RT-AC87R? From my understanding there are none. Asus please answer. I'm waiting on this one it should be good.
