New Around Here
Greetings SNB

I just got myself a RT-AC87U and was wondering which firmware + version you prefer and why?

Stock / DD-WRT / Merlin / Other ?

Best regards

I use Beta Version 3.0.0.4.378.7410 off the ASUS website, it is the most stable for me in my current environment. You actually have to try them yourself to see which one suits your environment best, for example some people have seen improvements with the latest beta linked on the forums and others haven't so it is totally personal.

But there are not latest... I saw someone had 8760, but there are only 8715 in that.

Check the specific model, they don't all have the same versions.

You won't find anything newer publicly than what's posted there - those come from Asus.

Asus is up to FW 89xx now, but that's not available to the public.

@ Merlin I hope you're bound to test the latest beta from ASUS.

To find fault. And these errors also equal to solve.

This is more something for the people actually experiencing issues. I had very little problems with my own devices and my RT-AC87U.

87r ddwrt ??? I have checked and it seems there is no support for this model... Are my findings incorrect ???

They do support the RT-AC87U. There was even a thread or two devoted to it in this sub-forum.

Yes I saw the post after my comment. .. I looked on the official support page and got no results. However I want what your pushin out, just waiting for a match of the official jap release. Love the view of connected devs by ssid :)

Their "official" support page is irrelevant these days, as DD-WRT is a continual development project, with no fixed release for many years. You have to dive into the forums or the FTP server to dig up releases.
