Asus RT-Ac87u Time Machine Problems

Just flashed merlin 376.49_5 on my Ac87u and performed a factory reset. After attempting to back up my Mac to a Segate 5tb hard drive via Time Machine, while preparing the backup, the wifi glitches and cuts for a good 2 minutes before returning back to its normal state. After that, the drive is listed as a 200gb capacity drive and back ups are no longer possible. Is this a problem because this is a very large capacity drive, because from what I believe this problem was fixed. Someone please help me! All three of my Macs can not back up!!
