New Around Here
Hi

Please can someone help me urgently, i have updated my firmware to 380.61, and my router continues to intermittently reset itself with this error on the logs > disk_monitor: Got SIGALRM, it happens all the time and it is really frustrating, i thought that pushing new firmware would sort this out, but it continues to happen and i even tried to reset everything to default settings. i raised a ticket to asus for advice but who knows when they will get back to me! i am hoping that someone on here can help me as this is causing major issues on my home network. i just have no idea anymore could this be a hardware issue? Any advise or help would be so grateful!!

Many thanks

Do not know if this is causing your issue, but the date/time is apparantly not set correct

The disk_monitor: got SIGALRM message is normal and does nothing to 'reset' the router. You would be better served by opening a thread with the exact problem you are having and a somewhat more descriptive title.

Explain what you mean by more descriptive title? Every time I check the logs to see why the router had reset I get the SIGALARM message, I have no USB ports connected only Lan and running my router as bridge connected to my virgin media hub set as modem only - this problem only started occurring when I updated the latest firmware a couple weeks back nothing else was changed - so perhaps u can be more descriptive on what u want me to detail- I'll check the date and time and ensure that is set correct but what else could cause the router to reboot at random intervals - every time it does I check the log and I see that message ?

So what could cause the router to fail and reboot intermintaly ? Hardware issue ? So it's worth getting a RMA from asus and getting a new one yes ?

Look at the syslog entries for clues. And then do as @john9527 said.

Thanks for all your input, it come to the conclusion there is a definite hardware fault so going to take it to get it replaced , I am thinking of getting the AC5300
