Aside from being recompiled on May 17th, there are strings inside the driver that indicate newer SDK components, so it does contain some newer bits at the very least.

MU-MIMO should improve the handling of devices in your network. To benefit from this you will need a critical mass of devices in your network supporting MU-MIMO as MU-MIMO will (to simply) improve your network capacity. Do you have multiple MU-MIMO devices connected to your router? Then you should notice a better resilance in handling traffic within your network. Only one or two devices in your network supporting MU-MIMO? Then I beleive you will hardly see any improvements....

I flashed to this version this morning and for the first time a stock firmware retains its IPv6 address for me on Comcast. I monitored the radio signals using Acrylic on my laptop with an Intel ac7260 Wi-Fi card and the 2.4ghz radio is flat with the best output signal I've seen from any firmware version. If the performance remains constant then I will be happy and stay on this firmware.

Two and a half days have passed since I installed this firmware and I 've not rebooted since that time. I still have a stable IPv6 connection, my radios continue to perform without interruption and I've not experienced any throughput problems whatsoever with my router. I'm very satisfied with this release and it does everything that I need for it to.

4 days uptime now with absolutely zero issues. It certainly took Asus a long time to get to this level of functionality but at least they did it. I was becoming very frustrated with this router's inability to obtain and keep an IPv6 address on Comcast cable but this time they've done it.

Did you reset the router after the update? If not, you may still benefit from previous Merlin settings as this version seems not having any IPv6 differences compared to the previous stock one (apart from security related updates).

In the past it has not mattered because just as soon as I applied the stock firmware over Merlin I would lose the IPv6 connection and even a hard reset would not bring it back. This time my IPv6 connection has remained constant as has wireless performance and has been so good that I've disabled the reboot scheduler because I no longer need it.
