New Around Here
Hi All Fairly new here but hoping I can get some help.

My AC88U is my main router and I recently moved into a much bigger house with god knows what in the walls so wifi is become a big issue. At the moment I don't have Ethernet setup in the walls so I want to use routers as repeaters until I get that done and ill set the routers to AP mode. I ended up grabbing a AC66u and AC68W from prime day for a good price.

So for the longest time my 88u was on 9.0.0.4.380.2697 I didn't have any issues with it so meh I left it alone. I setup the AC68W as my first repeater on whatever firmware it came out of the box. Awesome it works pretty much perfect I totally forgot about the other side of my house until my folks got a Roku and needed the wifi to reach.

Ok so I'm throwing the AC66U into the mix now same thing whatever firmware it came with I went with. so now I would get periodic disconnects from either the 66u or 68w and I would have to reboot the router and it would pick up again. So I figured maybe if I updated some firmware's this issue would stop, cause random family members asking me to fix the wifi in different parts of the house was getting annoying

I updated all 3 to the their latest firmware's and the disconnects got significantly worse. my wifi in general was having some connection issues so I decided to factory reset my 88U and that fixed my wifi with that AP but not the repeater issues so I reset them as well and now no matter what I do I get cannot connect to the Parent AP. so yeah... Any help or advice would be GREATLY appreciated

AC88u- 380.3941
AC68w-380.3831 ( not sure important but there is no w10 version of this FW and I don't have W8.1)
AC66u-380.4005

Ok just a couple things I use an 88u and a 66u as a repeater. Works well there is a bit of an issue with disconnects or slow performance. Manual set of the 2.4 channel from auto fixes some problems. Next many of us have gotten into habit of patch then factory reset patch again factory reset again. That tends to carry the least amount of issues forward with something being stuck in memory. Never restore a settings backup after updating a firmware always freshly configure. Try that first see how things work after that.
