After a Comcast outage last night, I noticed my RT-AX5400 (auto firmware updates are on) got into a weird state where it seemed like it partially lost its settings. Got a "welcome" screen, asking me to name my wi-fi networks (I have 2.4 and 5 ghz split into two SSIDs), etc. After some power cycling, it looked like things were back to normal until they weren't.

I eventually did have to specify the 2 network names, put in my desired WPA2 key, etc., and most settings were there. I upgraded the firmware (I don't allow betas) and I got upgraded to 3.0.0.4.388_25128 which is 1 newer than what's listed as the latest at https://www.asus.com/us/networking-.../rt-ax5400/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=RT-AX5400: 3.0.0.4.388_25127.

Don't know if my router had been hit by malware that have been discussed in other threads (e.g. https://www.snbforums.com/threads/malware-damaging-asus-routers.92752/) I don't come to this forum much so I didn't even know about that until last night. I never had AiCloud enabled nor most of the other stuff (e.g. VPN) mentioned since I don't use it.
