The app allows you to choose Safe Browsing for individual clients. It seems to be an Asus modified version of DNS Director. It gives you four choices of DNS resolvers:Speaking of the Asus Router mobile app, is there a reason to use it over the web GUI? I have it installed on my iPhone, but I typically use the GUI from a browser. Also, I haven't heard anyone specifically say the app offers anything specific that the GUI doesn't in the browser.
Thank you for that info. I wasn't aware of those things being specific got the mobile app. I was under the impression the app was simply a portable version for the web GUI.The app allows you to choose Safe Browsing for individual clients. Dump the Pi Hole and run Diversion on the router.I've never used this before, so I just tried it.
Chrome gave me: ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED
After a bit of investigation I found that my PiHole was trying to resolve it and giving NXDOMAIN.
Is that what you would expect and do I need to change anything?
I usually access the router using it's IP address.
Add the router domain name and IP to the Pi-Hole Local DNS Records. Then Pi-Hole should resolve the address correctly. Example (using an older Asus router):Is that what you would expect and do I need to change anything?
Initially the GUI seems to respond quicker.People having wifi stability issues, please try this test firmware, and let me know if wifi works better for you:
I just need feedback on wifi, not on anything else at this time.Initially the GUI seems to respond quicker.
Should you create another thread for this "test"?
I can't comment on previous versions as I only recently enabled 160Mhz, however using the test firmware posted by @RMerlin yesterday my RT-AX86U mesh nodes have maintained 160Mhz for over 12 hours so far. I live approx 5 miles from a military airport so I do sometimes get radar detections when using DFS channels.I'm still so pissed off on the latest Asus firmware and all of pretty much 2022 firmware in general. I always update the newest when it hits... I have hard reset and auto'd, manual locked, checked up 160hz, set 20/40/80/160 or even hard locked 160hz and this thing hasn't run 160HZ consistantly since January 2022 firmware if I recall. I just changed channels and auto set, it held 160hz for 3 minutes and won't kick back in...AS I see two neighbors locked strong and NOT dropping their 160hz with their routers and they are not on my main channel either. F N A stupid, I mean WTF level annoying.
The names and device names won't update when looking at and re naming devices, the guest network also now blends under the main channels your using "IE: 2.4 it shows under there instead of guest network when looking at connected devices.

Hello guys,
I don't know if this is the right venue to expose the issue that i am having, but here it goes:
I am using a RT-AX86U, initially with Asus Merlin 388.1, Asus Merlin 388.2 alpha 1, and now with Asus Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22068, and i am unable to use NordVPN or Surfshark VPN, because i set up the vpn, it works for a few minutes and then it goes down...I check the settings, and i don't get an error on the VPN setting...
I do get is a "wan down' and "wan restore" in the logs...I already changed the modem of my internet provider, and the issue still goes on...
Any device that i set up to use the vpn, get's disconnected, the devices without vpn work without issue (that i can see)...
It started last week, before that, didn't have this issue...
Any help will be appreciated...
All three firmwares, with or without scripts active...The right venue would be your own thread in the relevant forum so that your issue can be discussed independantly from those in other unrelated threads.
You might also want to indicate which firmware exhibits the issue.

Yup, but have kinda given up.You reported any of these issues to ASUS?
Then give the test firmware a try.Yup, but have kinda given up.
