New Around Here
I have an Asus AX86S running AsusWRT 3004.388.7 and every now and again it randomly reboots. I also have a Netgear Nighthawk AX12 RAX120v2 that doesn't seem to reboot in the same way but hasn't got some of the monitoring or QoS I'm looking for.

Here is an extract from the log before it rebooted:

I am experiencing the same behavior and haven't been able to pin it down. It has been occurring on last couple of versions of Merlin firmware. I thought at one point it might be rtmon but it occurred even after removing rtmon. The restarts seem to occur in the very early morning hours. I run in a double NAT setup and other router never has any problems. Both routers and modem are powered using an UPS.

and every now and again it randomly reboots.

I'm not going to say this is the cure, but I do know some electronics are more sensitive to in power cleanliness. Dell, for example will tell you to plug their computer power bricks into a wall socket and not a surge-protected power strip.

So, on the off change (and I know this is a long shot) you have your router power bricks plugged into a power strip, try plugging them directly into a wall socket to see if the "ghost" reboots stop. At minimum, this step will rule out most power cleanliness related issues.

I am experiencing the same behavior... Skynet, Diversion, spdMerlin, Connmon, Scribe, scMerlin,WAN-IP, YAZDHCP,VnStat,VPMON-R3, BACKUPMON

This model has under 100MB available RAM after boot and is not very Asuswrt-Merlin plus Custom Scripts friendly. If it runs on the edge of resources - no wonder it crashes from time to time. Swap file on USB doesn't help. Does it crash when running stock Asuswrt? Most likely it doesn't.

It only happens late at night when nothing else is really happening on my network so not a real problem. Never tried stock firmware. Only know reboot is happening because WICENS sends me an email that I see the next day. Only bought this model when Amazon was offering them for a net cost of $29 as a replacement for an AC86 which I never trusted. For now the AX86S is OK but I see an AX88 Pro in my future in the next few months. Keep hoping the price will come down.

Have had this router for about 1 year, for past month its been acting very crazy. Random reboots, sometimes 2-3 right after another. Tried changing settings for bands and channels so they don't mesh with neighbors. Oddly I think all neighbors have Auto on like I did and seems we keep moving to all same channels. Anyway using wifi scanner, moved 2.4 and 5g to unused channels. Seems same result. Have alot of kids (8), some smarter then others, some realized when I block their device, they turn on randomize mac id, so had to use mac filter (allow only on both bands). Now have mac id still on, but disabled wpa2 to nothing password since I have mac filter on. looking through logs, showing Radius, but am not using Radius. Anyway any help would be helpful.
