- VLAN, allow you to segment a network into smaller, virtual sub-networks, which can be used to isolate traffic, please refer to https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1049415/
- Multi-services WAN, create multiple profiles on a single WAN interface. (https://asus.com/support/FAQ/1050072)

Bug Fixes and Enhancements:

To repeat my comment in another post - successful auto upgrade to this firmware version. I plan to monitor this for any "issues" and if needed reflash/reset/manually reconfigure. I was not using a guest WIFI but plan to try a couple of the new features. Also noted a new Security Upgrade slider under Firmware Upgrade.

For a major version the release notes feel awfully light, I’ll wait a few days before upgrading.

Thanks bennor for the checksum - confirms with download from link in original post above.
Still not seeing the 3.0.0.6 firmware at the US site - even after clearing cache.
Now I see it :)
Again, thanks.

So do many poisons ;)

Hopefully most of the worst bugs have been quashed in the beta and across the other devices the 3.0.0.6 release has been on. I’ll likely update sooner than later simply because I like trying new things.

Release notes rarely note all changes under the hood. If we're lucky, they include the highlights (or, at least some of them).

About the only "problem" I've come across so far is the Network Map. And that has been a problem for a long time! Not really a problem but wonky...

FWIW - I had the time so I reflashed/factory reset (Initialize is now checked by default)/manually reconfigured. The good news is that I found no difference in operation from the Auto Upgrade to my manual configure.

Edit - Correction: I noticed some of the VLAN settings have changed. Before I could not see my IoT Guest in the VLAN / Trunk. Sooo... it may be a good idea to reset and reconfigure if you really need to use VLAN and etc.

Successful upgrade from 388.7, followed with a WPS Reset and power off/on reboot.

For a major version the release notes feel awfully light,
Just VLAN and Guest Network Pro features alone are MAJOR changes that involve thousands of lines of code throughout the firmware.

I did the update last night from the GUI, which seems to have gone OK. The update process asked me to reboot manually, which I did. It then got a power cycle, as I decided to move my UPS.

The only “issue” I’ve had is that my traffic analyser db was deleted at 22:00 -

May 10 22:00:18 BWDPI: [BWANA] Revert process (pid=3982)
May 10 22:00:18 BWDPI: [sql_remove_journal(74)] remove /jffs/.sys/TrafficAnalyzer/TrafficAnalyzer.db-journal
May 10 22:00:18 BWDPI: [BWANA] remove /jffs/.sys/TrafficAnalyzer/TrafficAnalyzer.db

I don’t spend enough time looking at the logs to know if that’s normal, but hopefully it’s just some kind of post-upgrade maintenance task, as I find the traffic analysis stats to be very useful.

It’s great to see the VLAN and Guest Network Pro features arrive. I’m looking forward to putting those to use this week.

Woot. Gotta wonder what their threshold was for calling it a release. Presumably the GT-AX6000 will receive a release version soon as well.

Is OpenVPN still v2.4.x?

Decided to set up a Guest IoT network using the IoT preset. I modified that to use both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, isolated WIFI and a different subnet from the LAN. I have a Dish box and TV Ethernet connected I wanted to add to the guest network so I dove into setting a router Ethernet port on the VLAN 52 the Guest WIFI set up. Dang, it worked! Next I brought out the AX86U and added it as an AiMesh node and enabled the Guest WIFI on that to see if it would work and it did!
Pretty neat stuff this! Now, I am wondering what else I can do ×ith this. Share the DLNA server on the NAS to the IoT VLAN?

Installed this last night works ok but IPv6 is broken don't work at all. Using native with comcast no issues on any other firmware except the new one here. Was this even tested before release ?

You may have to Factory Reset with Initialize then manually configure. Do not use saved config file! As I discovered with this major upgrade, some things do not work quite right with just an upgrade.

I did do a factory reset via WPS method and through the UI with manual reconfig. Still no luck IPv6 is broken.
