I'm glad to see a new firmware as my unit was starting to randomly disconnect which had me considering buying a new router.

Also glad to finally see a new version here, altough wondering why the build number is so low compared to other routers.

Meh it cut internet a few minutes ago forcing me to reboot it.

I just got back home from BB with a new BE96U so it won't be an issue much longer.

Edit: BE96 is defective so back it goes and the ax88u lives on.

I kept happening and now its back in the box replaced by a be92u.

After this FW if I try to switch to Dual WAN the router hangs in consequent LED blinking - power and network. None of the other LEDs are on or blinking. I waited 10 minutes. I restarted the router a few times and gave it several minutes to blink power and network freely, but same situation on each restart. Finally I had to do hardware reset to bring the router back. If I try to switch the Dual WAN again, the router hangs in non working mode. I reverted back the router to Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24209 and tried the same Dual WAN switch and all is good now.

There is a new firmware for your router: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-rt-ax88u-firmware-version-3-0-0-4-388_24224-2025-02-11.93837/

Thanks, Do you know if this behavior is fixed?
I do not. But the newest firmware is best from a security perspective. And a factory reset and manual configure may help after the new firmware is flashed.

My ax88u performed dual wan without issue so you might want to consider a full reset and manual configuration if you're having issues with it.

This update ASUS RT-AX88U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24224 killed my RT-AX88U, reboots by itself, 2.4Ghz disappears, the 5GHz and 2.4ghz signal is very weak. I even carried out the firmware recovery process.

The MAC in AIMesh is zeroed out, and no longer adds the AX82U.

The zeroed out MAC address makes me suspicious. I had the same issue. And I also had the same issue where the RT-AX88U would no longer add a downstream AiMesh node after a factory reset. To me, it sounds like your router might have been subject to malware. Some nice folks in this thread offered (and were able to) restore my router to working order.
