Anybody having issues with IPV6 Native? I have comcast internet and after a day or two I lose internet IPV6 on my devices. Internal network works fine. Doesn't fix itself after reboot but if I toggle between IPV6 passthrough and back to native it starts working again. This is causing voice chat issues in games. My backup internet is T-Mobile and if I connect directly to the T-Mobile router IPV6 and chat works fine. Everything is default for Native and like I mentioned it works fine for a little bit and randomly stops. What is weird is I'm able to use ping -6 in the command prompt and it still works but my browser on the same computer and different devices stop. One other thing I might try is rebooting the cable modem daily if that could be causing the issue but I would figure a restart of the router would accomplish the same since toggling the settings works without resetting the cable modem. Thanks!

I am unable to use 850nm Intel SFP+ over OM3 cabling with the last several releases; including this one. I have also tried the 2500sfp experiment.

I have tried in two seperate ax89x's ; these transcivers are listed in the QVL list ( https://www.asus.com/nz/support/FAQ/1044066/ )

Tried hard resets; replacing patch (patch and optics are confirmed working in mikrotik/qnap and Red hat linux with bnx2 based NIC). I am unsure what update SFP+ optics modules stopped working; as I have been using Copper 10G backhauls.

Normally ax89 is in AP only mode (routing done on a hosted NFV platform). I have also attempted to bring them up in Gateway mode (as this seems to expose additional settings for the SFP cage).

I see the EEPROM being read but no link activity on the ax89 side. Have tried changing 10Gbp forced mode on both sides (using mikrotik as terminating device), as well as toggling Fast/Low rate signalling on the mikrotik; and changing the toggles for TX Clock and Hardware offloads on the AX89x side.

I'm using a QSFPTEK 10G SFP+ SR Module, 10GBASE-SR in my RT-AX89X. Going to another same Fiber module in a Zyxel XGS1250-2 Switch. It's always been a rock solid 10Gbps connection.

Any context on the seemingly large number of security fixes?

CVE-2021-38171 is rated as 9.8 (critical), and a few more recent ones are rated as high.

Why are there CVEs from 2012 and 2013 only fixed in a late 2023 update? Am I missing something here?

Firmware updates for this device seem to be pretty slow compared to other ASUS devices; I am assuming this is because of the Qualcomm chip (which is strangely not listed on the specs page). The update cadence is disappointing considering the cost of this device.

Hello

I want ty buy asus rt-ax89.
Does it have DHCP option 60 feature?

Thanks

I see this!

After 50 days of uptime with this firmware, the router suddenly no longer had an internet connection last Saturday. (The internet light was white??) I tried everything for a day, but no matter what I did, nothing helped. I reset it today and it worked again. Didn't have a recent backup so had to adjust everything manually again.

I also had to do a factory reset recently since we intermittently lost Internet connection. I first restored it from a back up, but then the problem came back. Another factory reset and configure from scratch solved it. It has now been stable for two weeks.

I had this exact issue on Saturday night. Same signature. For some reason the PPTP was switched On. It's on the VPN tab of the Web GUI. It was selected as the default connection rather than my Internet connection. I turned that off, selected my Internet connection, and it started working.

I suspected a VPN or firewall issue because the router was able to do a speed test with expected results. But no client could use the Internet. It was trying to route all traffic through a VPN that wasn't setup. I've never setup a VPN on this router before, so not sure what flipped the setting.

Interesting you got the same signature as me on the same day. The following day, I got a message that my WAN cable was disconnected, when it wasn't, and my ONT was working just fine. Resetting the ONT didn't fix it, but rebooting the router did.

I made a backup before resetting the router to factory settings. I might put this back to check if this was also the problem with my router. I just don't feel like doing it because I just spent 4 hours configuring everything again. My family will also not like it if they lose the connection to the router every time I am working on it.

That in itself is nasty. If you didn't make that change, and no-one else in your home changed it then there's a distinct possibility you were hacked (maybe to intercept and possibly reroute your data). Do you have AiCloud enabled? If you do then reset your router and set things back up manually. Double check AiCloud.

I went to a beta firmware for a bit, then went back to this version. I suspect it got flipped in the process and only recently became an issue. AI Cloud is not active. I change my router password regularly, and did this weekend, per my usual schedule. I think a firmware bug seems more likely. Kind of like when everyone's router went and retired to auto update at the same time a year or so ago.

I wrote about it in another topic with an identical problem, it probably helped you too, because if all the BGA chips work, they just randomly reset or stop working, it means they are functional. All I had to do was reball SDRAM and NAND Flash Memory, the router worked like new. The reason is probably strong components, which cause them to get very hot, which leads to cold balls under the BGA.
