Flashed and working well with my aimesh with 3 ET12's running the 9.0.0.6 beta. Much more stable than the pre 37XXX builds. Had to schedule weekly reboots because the memory filled up and rebooted on it's own. Now this thing hums along at a consistent 45% memory utilization.

Doing well here also. No problems, just great wireless. There are some alarming messages in the system log, though, but I've decided that since there are no disconnects or spontaneous reboots, that those messages aren't significant. Asus could do better, though...these particular messages shouldn't be present in released firmware if they aren't significant, especially since I've set the system log log_level to 5. That's supposed to eliminate debugging messages. None the less, this firmware version hasn't missed a beat since I started using it a few days ago.

I have a RT-BE96U and I am looking to switch from Asus stock firmware to AsusWRT Merlin, this version of firmware specifically.

However, the stock firmware on the router seems to be preventing me from uploading the AsusWRT Merlin firmware on to the router via the web UI. Based on my searching of this forum, it seems the latest version of Asus firmware prevent third party firmware flashing.

Is this a case where I will need to use the Asus Firmware Rescue tool to force a flash on the router? Are there risks involved in potentially bricking the router if I take this route?

BUG in firmware 37031. If i am enable time scheduling to block some devices, for some reason, router block every connection from all devices, even if "enable block all devices" turned off

This firmware has some architecture changes that prevents "downgrading" to older firmwares. In this case, the current Merlin fw doesn't have these new changes, bc Merlin confirmed he hasn't received an updated GPL from Asus yet. So while his firmware is more feature-rich than stock, it'll take time to merge the latest changes from Asus once he receives it.

If you really want to run Merlin then yes you'd probably need to use the Asus FW tool, and yes there's always a risk. Unless you need merlin-specific features right now, I'd recommend waiting until he gets updates from Asus and merges into his firmware.

No problem! The architecture change actually happened in the previous 37024 firmware a few weeks back, it's in the changelog:

Not using the 10G ports on mine, but did you factory reset and manually reconfigure it after flashing? Not sure that this particular thing can be corrected by a reset, but a factory reset has fixed a myriad of problems for me over the years. Especially if the new firmware has a lot of changes from the previous.

The lan port lights never came on from the minute I first powered it up and finally nothing worked so back it went. I must have reset it at least 15 times.
