Asus RT-N66U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.376.3861
1. Upgrade OpenSSL library to 1.0.0q
2. Fixed CVE-201301813
3. Fixed the XSS vulnerability on page Main_Analysis_Content.asp
4. Added Movistar profile in IPTV setting page

It has the same build number as the previous "For JP only" build, and the same release date (2015.02.13).
I noticed this generic release today, March 04.
It installed without a problem over 3.0.0.4.376.3754.

The "Main_Analysis_Content.asp" page is the Network Tools page (with Ping, Netstat and Wake on Lan).

This involves a busybox vulnerability, obviously busybox is upgraded.

It is exactly same as "For JP Only", both has same md5 checksum and filename.
 
I upgraded to this firmware last night and my 5GHz band range just died.
I've been using it about 2 weeks and no problems. What do you mean by "5GHz band range just died"? Did it get worse or did it disappear or what?

Got worse. I mean the range is so weak standing 10 feet from the router I get 1 bar.
 
if the firmware is same for jp.ver
it possible wifi regulation in japan limit wifi-power/range which is used as default set
thus making poor performance

btw did check the setting ?
such channel, tx power output etc
 
I upgraded to this firmware last night and my 5GHz band range just died.
Here 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz are not affected by upgrade to this firmware, alls same-same, sufficient coverage on various devices. Of course the natural coverage of 5 GHz is less then 2.4 GHz.
 
I can't update to this version

When I go to the router and select check for update nothing is found.

When I download the RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_376_3861-g11c21b3.trx file and install manually it appears to update but the version stays at 3.0.0.4.376_3754
 
.3861 installed the first time for me. I clear the NVRAM before and after a fresh firmware install and never had any problems.

Try clearing nvram through telnet (mtd-erase -d nvram) and turn off and on manually from router power button, do not reboot from gui or telnet. Once I got problems after fw upgrade even though I cleared nvram with reset button, but clearing from telnet and off/on from power button and manually apply settings fixed it.
 
Hi, sorry for the offtopic but what other ways are there to clear the nvram?
1. While router is powered, press reset button about 5sec and release
2. Power down router, push wps button, power router and keep pressing wps button about 10sec and release
3. From gui, administration->restore/save...->factory defaults
 
For a second time I noticed a spontaneous outage of the 5 GHz signal with this 3.0.0.4.376.3861 firmware, no messages in the system log.
Reboot (first time I noticed) or change of 5 GHz channel (second time I noticed) kicks it back in.
The router was configured manually again, after hard reset.
Keeping an eye on it.

If you have EU router, it is probably caused by DFS & TPC, they came after 3.0.0.4.376.2524 (I think, well they came when came more than four 5GHz channels). I had same problem with newer fw's, so I modified my CFE to #a region. Official fw's from 3.0.0.4.376.2524 backwards and merlin's 376.48_3 worked fine with original CFE. I modified my CFE so DFS & TPC defaults off, with EU region they are forced on with fw's which have more than four 5GHz channels and you can't turn them off.
 
3.0.0.4.376_3861. Updated my router. Two things I notice. One, the UI is AWFULLY slow now. 5Ghz performance is intermittent. See lots of devices (IOS and Android) randomly disconnecting/connecting again. ASUS -- please look at QAing your firmware before release. May need to go back to n-1 release.....
 
The RMerlin version of the Asus releases offer much better performance for me.

I haven't installed a stock firmware in many months now, not even to test.

I have seen the outage of the 5 GHz signal with the manual selected 5 GHz channel 36.
I have changed it to channel 40 now, so far so good.

For long time I had 5 GHz on Auto channel selection, it selected nicely channel 48, while the only visable neighbor device was on channel 36.
Some weeks ago I noticed the neighbor device was also using channel 48, after which I decided to manual select channel 36.
5 GHz on Auto channel keeps selecting the one and only occupied channel 48, which is weird.
How does Auto channel selection work, is it just random or does it really first check for the best channel? It seems random...or simply wrong!

It doesn't matter do you choose lower or higher channel, the problem is there as long as you have 802.11d+h.

those auto channel function is far from smart imo
afaik it tends to pick "default" channel, as it only do basic check (2.4ghz = channel1 .. 5ghz = channel 36)
except there is nearby device (which is close enough) then it pick other channel
otherwise, like if it detect other device from outside house, that router consider wont cause any issue, it will pick default channel

the things is do you have issue with default channel?
most people that have issue with 5ghz usually change channel to 40
