Asus Tablet Won't Connect with 380.57

Brian Smith

New Around Here
Just updated AC68P to 380.57 and suddenly my 2 year-old ASUS Transformer tablet won't connect. Reverted to 378.55 and all works well.

I am NOT a techie, so need a layman's explanation. Will stay at 378.55 until more information si forthcoming. Thanks

Known issue with the RT-AC68U. 378.56_2 should be fine as well.

Thanks for assuaging fears that I screwed something up. Is nature of the issue understood and planned to be fixed in future releases?

Out of my hands. The issue lies in the closed-source wireless code.

Assume you mean the core code from ASUS. That's kinda funny: the core code from ASUS router broke their own product - the ASUS tablet.

Has nothing to do with the tablet itself. All wireless-based devices will have trouble connecting to the 2.4 GHz band when CTF is disabled.

Sorry for the misunderstanding; I was not aware of what the exact issue is - and, to some extent, still am not: what is CTF?

CTF. Cut Through Forwarding (aka Hardware Acceleration).

NAT acceleration, a feature of the router that allows it to process up to gigabit Internet speed, by taking certain shortcuts.
