is there a merlin firmware for this device?

Neither https://www.asuswrt-merlin.net/ nor the gnuton Merlin fork show it being supported so unfortunately, it seems not.

This is weird since the only difference from the xt12 is the 6e, so it should be easy to do

Maybe have a wee look at this thread, I think @RMerlin explains why / why not there.

To be fair there is a huge amount he has to do for each model, each time a new GPL comes out, so him limiting his energy and resources (it's just him) to do an amazing job on the models he does support (and there are quite a few) is pretty fair.

EDIT: And don't even think about trying to put the XT12 Merlin FW on the ET12...
