Release Asus ZenWiFi XD4 Mini - Firmware Update 3.0.0.4_388_25106 (Nov 18 2024)

It appears there is an update to the Asus ZenWiFi XD4 Mini firmware very recently (Nov 2024?) (Firmware version 3.0.0.4_388_25106).

I use the XD4 as AiMesh nodes for an Asus RT-ZX88U Pro router and from the router it shows firmware update for the XD4 nodes:

I couldn't find a download reference/link from Asus support site or internet search.

The latest version on the Asus support site is:

HOWEVER... I grabbed the URL from that version (above) and just changed the portion with the version number from 25041 to 25106 -- AND IT WORKED. Just downloaded 3.0.0.4.388_25106 using link below:

Just noticed this myself, also found nothing elsewhere online but didn't think of changing the URL, good work! I'm glad the XD4 is still being updated.

Out of interest do you think the security fixes are as important if the XD4 is being used as an AiMesh node rather than a router?

We had a report of RT-AX86U main router with RT-AX82U nodes all hit by malware. Don't take your chances.

It was for AiProtection feature that was allowing the router to be highjacked and bricked. Not sure if a node would be affected or not. Likely not.
