I have updated the main router and all the nodes simultaneously either via the app or from the router settings on the web address. Then you wait and hope it worked for all (on one occasion in the past it did not, and I had to manual upgrade the firmware to each node after downloading the firmware from Asus and connecting via ethernet to the computer). Not an issue of late. Also lately I have not had to reset the main main router and each node to factory default and set it up all over again....something I have had to do in the past to get things running smoothly. Of note I have had to turn of all the devices and start up the main router then each node afterwards to get it to give me optimal performance
