Yes. But you need to test it out yourself if that very specific feature has been enabled for Asus for that model as RT-AC68U is quite old now.does this mean i can enable my extra 68u as a node while using guest network on it? I've got two 86u routers in a mesh for my house and a 68u in the guestroom/pool. my 68u is currently on a double nat setup on a different subnet.
Ya sorry i forgot, not at home now, probly latercan You make a screenshots ?

Be noted(Please read this before you use):
1. Although these are release candidates, but still under testing, there might be some bugs will cause system unstable, if you are facing issues, please leave your comments in this thread.
2. By using 9.0.0.x beta, it will not get live update from official path, you need to flash to official 3.0.0.x release to get latest updates.
3. To use full function AiMesh 2.0, all AiMesh nodes should be update to the 386-rc2 beta. If some of them are not, the functions will not work properly or limited.
4. For updating firmware manually please refer to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1035199/
What's new in 386-RC2
1. Supports 802.11k/v (ZenWiFi already adopted before, this is for RT GT models.)
2. AiMesh 2.0
- System optimization: one click in AiMesh topology to let topology re-org.
- System Ethernet backhaul mode, which is EAP mode, all nodes will use Ethernet as connection only, all bands will be released for coverage.
- System factory default and reboot.
- Client device reconnect, make device to offline and online again.
- Client device binding to specific AP.
- Guest WiFi on all Mesh nodes (only works on 2GHz -1 and 5GHz -1 guest network). (we know you are all waiting for this)
- Access nodes USB application. (Each node will have their own USB application server, it's not synchronized with Primary)
3. WiFi time scheduler now the unit goes to 1 minute.
Bug fixes:
1. VPN fusion bug fixes.
2. Offline client clean bug fixes.
Look nice........ just wonder, is it any new functions in AiMesh or only new fancy display? For those asking, here is the new AiMesh page (I didn't have any node connected, this is just a single RT-AC66U_B1):

Another new features for those who missed it is a Speedtest page (powered by Ookla):

Oh.. sorry discovered this: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1040442/
I have the same identical problem, I can add a single node, but within a couple of minutes the node is "offline" and it is sitting within 3 feet of main, direct line of site. Please disregard my signature. I am trying on 86U's. I too have tried multiple resets, etc, rebuild from fresh, to no avail.I have 2 x ac86u and ac68u. All upgraded to this firmware and wipe two times with wps button. One ac86u as main router, I can add second ac86u and ac68u as aimesh node without any problem, but about one minute they are both offline. I tried wired and wireless. After reboot mine router, nodes completely disappears from mine router.
In logs I have:

I decided to also try to convert my Ac1900p to a node, and no luck
Work fine with 81992
back on the beta, more test to do
