By the way, there's a new firmware for the DSL-AC68U which has this interesting parts in the changelog:

Seems ASUS is aware that mDNSNetMonitor floods the logs already.
but this is 9168 bulid, in build 9177 this bug is stil exist.

They were aware of the syslog flood (it was mentioned in the official firmware thread), I don't know if they also resolved the mDNSNetMonitor.log that gets created.

For me that was the last straw. Getting tired of constantly answering the same question, so I'm removing the memory buffer fix for the next release.

Suggestion (without questioning this particular decision): Add GUI text to answer common questions. It's a usability fix.

E.g. "Wireless > Professional > 2.4 GHz > Reducing USB 3.0 interference" has some hover-text help but it doesn't say that "Enabled" slows the USB 3 port to USB 2 speed and is incompatible with some hard disks. (Is hover-text help obvious enough?)

Is the AC68 working in Repeater mode with 378.56? I have some Problems with the Repeater mode on the AC68. My clients on AC68 get no IP from the Main Router AC87.
I have 2 AC68 in repeter mode linked to AC3200, all running 378.56 with no issues.

Make sure you use the download sites listed on http://asuswrt.lostrealm.ca/download . The RT-AC56U latest release is 378.56, released a few days ago.
Yes, this is the page I went to. I was under the impression this version was stable and not in beta but now I see it in the beta folder. Another senior member here told me to avoid installing the stock 900 series FW and use Merlin instead. My router is running fine with v.378.4585 without any problems. Thanks

I just loaded 378.56 on my RT-AC68U and ntp appears to not be working. I haven't check in in quite awhile, but I thought all the settings for ntp/system time were on the Administrative page->system. The ntp path is there, but I don't see how to make it sync.

NOTE: I reloaded 378.55 and ntp works fine.

Can you make your syslog available to look at?

I've switched back to 378.55 for the time being. I get a lot of grief from the family if I take the network down too much so it will have to wait.

I am experiencing exactly the same behavior on my RT-AC87U when I log-in through chrome (I disabled http too). I sometimes (maybe always) refresh the page when it is taking too long because then it loads faster. This behavior is very often happening when I click on Adaptive QoS or Traffic Analyzer. But when I log-in through Microsoft Edge I don't experience the slow down.

I imported the certificate too, but I am still getting every time the warning to proceed.

Check if your security software has any web filtering feature. Edge might be unaffected because it doesn't support plugins yet. There's been some mentions of Kaspersky causing issues with some https websites for instance.

378.56 final is in the main folder, while the older 378.56-beta1 and -beta2 are in the beta folders. I just checked, and they're all in their correct locations.

All the existing texts are in Asus's localized dictionary, which I don't touch, or it will become impossible to merge future changes they make.

Apologies if this is slightly off topic but there have been a few people asking about the overclocking throughout the beta and release threads.

I fully appreciate that ASUS are locking things down and one side affect on this release is that any overclocking is reset upon a reboot and furthermore, the /Tools_Sysinfo.asp page will now always show stock speed regardless of what you have actually set. Is there an idiot's guide on writing some sort of script (via USB?) so that at reboot it will automatically reapply the NVRAM commit please?

Thanks,

HB
