Nice... I'm going to order one to power a Honeywell heat only digital thermostat that runs on two AAA batteries on a two wire system but it has a power input for 24v. This would be better than having to replace the batteries every two to three years. For anybody reading and wants to try a clean power source for converting an old 2 wire system, this works:

If you are handy you can fish the wire in the wall to a basement and plug it in out of sight.Nice... Good suggestions. I'll remember those wiring fishing poles for when I have to upgrade to Cat 8 and run the cable through the walls. This system is running on an analog thermostat right now but I want to switch to the digital which I already bought. The analogue one is notorious for large temperature swings of overheating and then not coming on until its too cold. Besides the two wires... the extra wiring for the 24v power is already there running down to the heater and there is an AC outlet nearby too. I just need to sort it out and hook it up. After this thread maybe I should just install a Nest thermostat instead of the Honeywell. If you are handy you can fish the wire in the wall to a basement and plug it in out of sight.
It's also good for a tester and backup plan.

The Honeywell should work just fine, I would give that a try before rushing to the more expensive Nest on a Heat Only system.Good suggestions. I'm going to stick with the Honeywell. I was kind of joking about getting the Nest for this Heat Only system. It would be cool though being able to control the thermostat through your phone. The Honeywell should work just fine, I would give that a try before rushing to the more expensive Nest on a Heat Only system.
Just remember that the newer ones require programming steps be input for your type of heating source. (access sub menu)
Have the Manual handy.
