The RT-AX86U and the RT-AX88U are very similar.

The AX86U has a little bit slower 2.4GHz AX speed but 2.5GbE Port
The AX88U has a faster 2.4GHz AX speed but only 1GbE

I did not find any other differences...I would almost say the AX86U is "better"...!?

I'm planning to get one when they come out. My AC86U will be about 3 years old by then, but my reasons are purely cosmetic/selfish. I just like the way it looks...like an AC86U overdosing on steroids!
