Hi good people.

I have a setup like this:
AX88U with latest Merlin and uptil now I've had 2,4Ghz and 5Ghz Wifi as my main network and basically all the devices on there. Now I've added a guest network for som IoT devices and I've started to transfer them on to the guest network which also runs on 2,4 GHz. I now basically have 2x 2,4Ghz and 1x 5 Ghz.

For the IoT Network, I've created a mac filter with allow only list. And every time I add a new device on the guest mac filter, my 2,4 Ghz (main, not guest) dissapears.

Any way to resolve this besides restarting the router every time?

Unlikely for you to fix this behavior. Find temporary workaround and report the issue to Asuswrt-Merlin firmware release thread. Wait for feedback and eventual fix in next releases. I would test with stock firmware first to find out if the issue comes from Asuswrt firmware base upstream.

Have you tried diagnosing it any other way than reboot? Does resetting the main 2.4 Ghz radio from advanced do anything?

I'm running a similar setup - same router, latest Merlin, 2.4GHz and 5GHz main wifi, and 2.4GHz guest wifi for IoT. No issues.
The main difference is I'm running YazFi to send IoT devices through a VPN, though this shouldn't make a difference.
I also had to factory reset the router and start again when moving from 388.7 to 388.8.

Nope, running my router ever since I got it with Merlin withounf any factory resets. I think its time for that :)
