AX89X static address limitation ?!

Indeed, this was quite a limitation for how I prefer to setup my network. Seeing this in the beta was quite an unexpected surprise. I received this build after contacting Asus about a different issue I've been plagued with for the past few releases. They usually respond within 48hrs whenever I've reached out, and can quickly send a beta if it's something they are already working on. I can confirm that I can now manually assign 64+ devices.
thanks for the info!

NP. This build has addressed a few issues for me at least that I've been seeing with the past two full releases (was previously on an earlier beta for SFP+ restart issues). Release build 45120 completely screwed up existing support for a number of Homekit devices, but I was able to eventually work around this with configuration changes that hadn't previously been required. And release build 45130 basically destroyed IPTV (and even some streaming video OTT apps) across a number of my LAN devices. Thankfully this beta has got me back up and functioning.

I had the same problem with HomeKit. Can you please share the config change you've made?

PS FWIW one of my two RT-AX89X routers failed—just kept rebooting. It was an A1 rev hw design. To their credit ASUS support was responsive. I paid for upgraded Fedex shipping both directions; sent my unit on Weds and had a new one (rev A2) by Saturday.

Well, I experienced multiple breaking issues (for my operation at least) with both 45120 and 45130, including Homekit (non-Hub-based devices) and IPTV, so I can't recall the exact settings which resolved Homekit, but here's what I think I've done recently:
  • LAN>IPTV – Enable Fast Leave enabled (although this is for IPTV, and I stated I had IPTV issues above, I am pretty sure I had to set this for Homekit, as the IPTV issue wasn't really addressed until this recent 45140 beta)
  • Wireless>General:
(I only run 2.4GHz on the AX89X atm as I have a separate AP for 5GHz, and the primary purpose in my network for the AX98X is to be the base 10G LAN + IoT DHCP distributor)
    • Wireless ModeAuto / optimized for Xbox unchecked / b/g Protection checked
    • 802.11ax / WiFi 6 modedisable
    • Channel Bandwidth20MHz
    • Protected Management Framesdisable
  • Wireless>Professional:
    • Roaming Assistantdisable
    • Enable IGMP Snoopingenable
    • Multicast Rate (Mbps)Auto
    • Preamble TypeLong
    • Enable TX Burstingenable
    • Enable WMMenable
    • Enable WMM No-Acknowledgementdisable
    • Enable WMM APSDenable
    • Airtime Fairnessdisable
    • OFDMA/802.11ax MU-MIMOdisable
    • 802.11ac Beamformingdisable
    • Universal Beamformingdisable
Of the above, if I can recall correctly (sorry), the key settings were to disable Protected Management, enable Enable IGMP Snooping, disable OFDMA, and disable 802.11ac. I've been running this beta fw with these settings for almost a week now without seeing the Homekit issues I saw previously. Since I don't really have any high-bandwidth-consuming 2.4GHz-only devices on my network anymore, some of the performance-reducing settings listed above aren't a concern for me. I do have an odd issue with one of my other IoT non-Homekit devices where it says the range is too weak, even though I have two other devices of the exact same make and model further away which appear to be doing well, so I doubt that is a router config issue.

Many thanks—much appreciated. I'll give it a shot.

Cheers,
muski
