BE88U and Wifi 7 connected smartphone not shown in Client List and Wireless Log

Got my BE88U yesterday and reconfigured all my devices. At this point I have only one Wifi 7 capable device, my Android smartphone.

I can successfully connected my Android smartphone via Wifi 7 and the 160Mhz channel bandwidth, however, the smartphone isn't shown in the client list and also not wirless log. But it's connected and traffic goes through the BE88U router, I even have mobile data disabled so the only way to watch Youtube videos is Wifi. All other devices, which are all NOT Wifi 7 capable, whether Windows, iOS TV, and other iOS and Android smartphones, are shown in the client list and wireless log. But, I can see my Android device in the DHCP lease and Connections log.

Sooo... is this a known issue? I'm on the latest available Asus firmware (3.0.0.6.102_37094-g9192b87_980-gbd310_BB0B), not Merlin.

I believe so. I recently bought a BE92U and has been struggling with clients not showing up in AiMesh routers, Network and Network Map. They can each display a different list of clients or nothing at all. I feel like Asus did not do a good job with all these routers. I've owned, and have 2 x AC86U, 2 x AC87U, 1 AX86U, 1 x AX1800S, and this new BE92U. Asus never disappointed me at bugs and weird behaviors. At this point I think this whole AiMesh thing is a scam. It's great when it works, it's days of struggles otherwise before a reset and start all over.

I am having some ghost-client issues on the 37094 firmware as well, might be something they need to fix.

I just purchased the Asus ZenWifi BT10 (Wifi 7). Same exact issue Android Smartphone (Pixel 9XL Pro doesn't show up in the Client List. This was happening before I had to rest for another issue but the 1st time it would intermittently disappear. Now after reset it doesn't show at all.
I see the device now but without any Tx/Rx number. :-)

And now online as well:

ASUS RT-BE88U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_37103
Version 3.0.0.6.102_37103

1. Expanded the number of MAC filter rules.
2. Optimized MLO client identification.
3. Fixed GUI bugs.

I have two Asus RT-BE88U and I have the same problem on both: when I connect something to the USB, pen drives or portable SSDs, the IoT/Guest network stops working and all my home devices are unreachable. It took me a month to understand that this was the problem. As soon as I remove the device from the USB socket everything starts working again. This is a clear bug that needs to be solved as soon as possible because we are talking about a router with a list price of 500€.

Also with the last firmware update (3.0.0.6.102_37103) I can't enter the "AI DISK" sub-menu since I get and empty page. Can you guys check if you have the same issues? Thx.

USB drives at usb3.0 produce noise that interferes with 2.4G wifi. The fix is to use correctly shielded drives with correctly shielded cables, or use usb2.0 mode. Or don't use them at all. Asus aren't the only routers affected, but at least asus give you the usb switch.

I suggest you start you own thread. Neither of your problems are the same as those being discussed in this thread.

I've already done it here (https://www.snbforums.com/threads/rt-be88u-guest-and-iot-not-working-with-usb-3-0.93389/#post-941339) and apparently I'm not the only one having this same exact issue with the latest firmware (this means it's widespread). I also randomly have the same "ghost client" issue as the OP.

I'm using top of the range Samsung portable drives (a USB stick and an SSD) with the original USB Type-C cable. This is clearly a firmware or a router issue (since it happens on both BE88Us I own and in two different buildings).

Your previous post never said anything about "ghost client" issues, only USB related disconnections and an "AI DISK" issue. As this thread has nothing to do with USB or AiDisk I respectfully suggest you continue that conversation in your other thread rather than causing confusion by changing the subject of this thread.
