Went through a major headache where my BE96U + 2x AX82U got major issues with 5ghz due to the enforcement of AES+GCMP256 encryption on all nodes.

For anyone stuck on the same issue, you must goto WiFi Professional mode and turn off "Wifi 7" in 5ghz (you can leave it on in 6ghz mode) and all existing clients will then connect to mesh nodes using AES again.

--------------Update-----------------
Factory reset primary router (BE-96U) to create a Wifi 7 MLO network and setup old network to "IoT" and everything working as designed, however the IoT network cannot be enabled on other AiMesh nodes (I'm not sure why)??

Same issue for me. I have a newer Amazon FireTV and a Fire Tablet that just won't authenticate anymore when wifi 7 is enabled. It seems to be that new encryption setting that breaks it. When I disabled wifi 7, it reverts to just AES and everything connects fine. Hopefully they can release a bug fix soon that fixes this issue. I have 2 wifi 7 devices, but will continue to stick to just wifi 6e for now sadly.

I am also seeing issues with an Amazon FireTV streaming stick after upgrading to this firmware version. My router's log is showing endless cycles of "Auth" and "Deauth_ind". The FireTV stick can never connect until I turn off "Wifi 7 mode" or have it connect to the "_IoT" Guest Network instead.

Code:
May 11 14:05:26 wlceventd: wlceventd_proc_event(685): wl2: Auth <MAC ADDRESS>, status: Successful (0), rssi:0
May 11 14:05:26 wlceventd: wlceventd_proc_event(645): wl2: Deauth_ind <MAC ADDRESS>, status: 0, reason: Unspecified reason (1), rssi:0

I installed this update and half of my devices won't connect to WIFI. Some are asking for passwords and when they are entered the device still won't connect. I assume this has something to do with a change to WPA encryption as it now shows AES+GCMP256. There is no way to change this option either.

I have a mesh RT-ac68u I use as a switch(wifi off). I did try to turn the wifi on for this router and some of the devices that couldn't connect to the 96u were able to connect to that.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Update: After a series of issues(random reboots and poor connectivity) over the last few months, the router factory reset itself a week ago. It has since been better than ever. I performed several factory resets after and it never resolved these issues. I'm not really sure what happened this time around but so far so good!

Good to hear...I've been getting great results with this firmware as well since it was released. Although now that RMerlin is using the RT-BE96U, I may go that way *smile*.

Odd about that self-reset. Maybe Asus is taking the AI path as well?

I can back this up. I can get 1300Mbps down on my iPhone 15 Pro. I don't have 160Mhz enabled to get a screenshot at the moment, but it is the only device I have that gets a boost from 160Mhz. Hence why I don't bother enabling it with DFS channels.

Any chance you could just enable it for a test and post results. It would be great if you could as I can’t see any info that it’s supported but am interested to see what you achieve.
