Best 200$ router as of april 2011

Thanks, went for a Linksys E4200 and my wireless download speed increased to 50.25 Mbps.

That's not too bad considering the Asus WL-520GU only gave me ~14 Mbps.

I'm glad you're enjoying your E4200.
I bought the E4200 and have not looked back.
It has been rock solid for me and both the line quality and the combination of throughput performance + signal quality beat my old 802.11n router which is all I could ask for.
It is not cheap, but wireless reliability is very important to me since over 99% of my home computing is done on a laptop connected to the internet wirelessly, not to mention I frequent one online poker site that has picky standards for what it counts as a disconnect (my old router was not stable lately on that site).

The only thing I wish they would resolve is the flashing light syndrome.
It is ONLY a cosmetic annoyance (since the router operates flawlessly) and I assume (hope) the LED type that is used for the logo might be capable of flashing on and off at times intermittently many years without ever 'dying'.

Then again my prior router (Belkin N1 Vision) had a KNOWN serious issue that the company never resolved despite the fact that this was their top of the line (consumer) router!
The N1 Vision would disconnect every 2 hours (due to an issue with the call to the nntp server to obtain the current time of day!).
Luckily there is a 'secret' / hidden page that allows you to kill processes, so I used that as a trick to stop the disconnects on it. Since it was stable (till the end when it seemed to really start acting up which is why I got the E4200 to replace it) it was not a big deal since the process only had to be killed again after a power outage (I never needed to reboot that router either).
The point being I would rather have a cosmetic issue like a flashing light (E4200) than a wireless disconnect every 2 hours (Belkin N1 Vision).

Enjoy your E4200 OP!

PS: The E4200 also has a secret/ hidden page for advanced wireless settings (use at your own risk- disclaimer only provided since it is not shown by default and I don;t want anyone getting upset if it causes any issues).
