I'm curious, what do you see as the problem with the Syslog functionality in pt360?
It drops the first letter of the month name which is first in the text per the RFC. Same messages sent to Kiwi's server don't have that issue. This aside, pt360 is much preferred, among freeware.

Network Monitoring Tools

Hello

Network monitoring depends a lot on what you want to monitor.
It depends on what kind of architecture. If you have devices supporting Netflow, this could be very handy to identify bottlenecks or missues. There are just a few good tools for netflow under a low budget, try solarwinds or Pandora FMS.

For SNMP monitoring, probably the most common case, most tools do a good job: cacti, zabbix, pandora fms or nagios. OpenNMS and Pandora FMS have the best management of Traps, and only a few manage v3 properly.

For a mixed scope on monitoring: server, apps and networking, you have less tools, we use Pandora FMS for that reason, can manage netflow, snmp, wmi (for remote server monitoring) and agent based monitoring for unix & windows server.

Check out MRTG and Cacti...

It's a bit of work to set up, but if your router supports SNMP, it's very powerful, with quite a few charting options...

Xymon is also pretty useful for monitor network elements and servers.

all free...

We use NAGIOS for monitoring and CACTI for reporting and threshold alerting.

Both work very well.

Totally forgot about Nagios - which is funny since I use this tool, very heavily customized to monitor the trailer park of servers I manage - thanks for adding a mention here.

Nagios Core is still free...

There are a number of tools out there you can check out like Solarwinds, What's Up Gold, Cacti, SevOne, MRTG, etc. Personally, I like SevOne free version the best since it has a lot of plugins and is pretty easy to get up and running.

In my opinion, the best produce that detects crypto is the RMM from Comodo. It is easy to deploy with an equally easy-to-use interface. The best in network monitoring it offers complete protection against viruses and malware, keyloggers, rootkits, spyware and other threats. I liked the diagnostic tool that allows admin to quickly analyze and fix the error on an end point. What I like the most about this remote networking is that each tool opens in a new tab where it shows the options and the results pertaining to the tool. You need not worry about updates since its cloud driven and always up to date. No phishing attacks, no spyware with Comodo.
