I have always had trouble with wireless in one corner of the house. I have tried different settings channels on my WRT160Nv3 and others.

I picked up a repeater but it does not work apparently because my WRT160Nv3 does not support bridging.

cat5 would not be easy because it is the opposite corner of a different floor. is the homeplug stuff worth trying? (I know it is on a different breaker than the router).

It is there a specific wireless solution you know would work? I am currently running my n router as g because I have a few legacy devices like the PS3 but I could run cat 5 to it if needed without much trouble.

The common way to add/improve coverage is to install an access point (AP) near the weak signal area. Connect the AP to the router's LAN port using either a cat5 cable in the attic/walls/under house or use MoCA or HPNA to do the IP network extension over TV coax or power wires.

Any cheap WiFi router can be faked to be an AP. See FAQs.
