Hi Michael,I googled some and tested the speed, several times, to get the best settings for wireless. I use the latest Merlin firmware. Please see the attached picture about the settings.
Hi Michael,
Well, there is no 'one size fit's all' setting for wireless.
If the 'auto settings' do the job in your case, you can leave them as they are!
In case you have troubles with WLAN you should go for
- fixed channel (find out which one is not used with inSSIDer)
- only 20 MHz channel bandwidth
- b/g protection might lower the speed
Other settings on the 'Professional' tab might give even better results (or have not influence) in your case: Just try them out (but not down the original settings, to be able to revert back to them).
With kind regards
Joe
Well...
I did what you explained, with all the possible combinations as you described above. I also tested the settings out with a bandwith tester and got the best results with the above attached settings.
Further more I live in a apartment with lots of other competing WiFi networks.
Best regards
Michael
Do you not use the 5 GHz band ?
Then you could separate the old equipment and your new and get better transfer rates on your new devices. It looks like you are from the Nordic countries....
Correct, I'm in Sweden.
At the moment I only have 1 router that runs both 2,4 and 5 GHz, with the same settings.
Michael
What did you have in mind?...Other settings on the 'Professional' tab might give even better results ...
