What he means is that a zipfile allows the user to verify that the download was properly completed and not corrupted in any way (as the zip file uses CRC32 checks during extraction). That would prevent the accidental flashing of an incomplete or corrupted download.

Hi RMerlin,

Noted and in future we will use Zip.

Hi Teymur,

Have you done a factory restore?

I doubt, that with this firmware the 5GHZ is solved problem.

Quantenna it as intel fare. If the driver does not match. No matter how good the hardware is. (Graphic)

Since it takes many years of experience.

Brodcom has it.

First of all is great to see here ASUS_ASUSWRT!!

Factory reset? YES

1. WPS on 5Ghz turns back ON at reboot. A long standing issue since forever.
2. VPN, VPN Client, Open VPN and .ovpn files from VyprVPN (link to config files HERE). Connection is established without problems but internet connection via web browser is broken. It was working fine with older (much older) firmwares. Logs enclosed.

Do you have AiCloud/ Cloud Sync enabled?

2. VPN, VPN Client, Open VPN and .ovpn files from VyprVPN (link to config files HERE). Connection is established without problems but internet connection via web browser is broken. It was working fine with older (much older) firmwares. Logs enclosed.

Some tunnel providers will block the use of DNS servers others than those they specifically support, to prevent accidental information leak. Unfortunately I don't think Asus still has the Advanced setting page for clients that would allow you to set DNS support to be exclusive or strict. Try setting this over SSH:

Code:
nvram set vpn_client1_adns=2
nvram commit
service restart_vpnclient1

If that doesn't work, try setting it to 3 instead of 2.

thanks! I will try and let you know.
AiCloud/cloud sync? No, not using it.

EDIT: Done but same result. At service restart I get this:

Code:
Sep 25 21:38:16 rc_service: service 11792:notify_rc restart_vpnclient1
Sep 25 21:38:18 openvpn[11830]: Options error: You must define CA file (--ca) or CA path (--capath)
Sep 25 21:38:18 openvpn[11830]: Use --help for more information.

My post was assuming you configured client 1. Your previous log seem to indicate you are using client 5... Change all the commands I gave to replace client1 with client5.

Just installed this beta and am testing it out vs the prod build that is on the support page. Nice traffic monitoring feature.

2 questions.
1. I had turned off beamforming in the prod build because it was causing instability in the 5ghz band. Has that issue been resolved, and should I test it?
2. I've noticed that for some time apple airprint does not work for printers that are wireless. It works fine for printers that are hardwired to the router. I can't determine if it is due to ASUS firmware bugs, or IOS 8/9 bugs. Does anyone have any insight into this?

I have an HP LaserJet connected over WiFi, and I've never had any problems with AirPrint on any of the firmwares...

Thanks. Both the printers I'm having issue with are brothers. Next path to explore....I was hoping it was a router bug that would get crushed over time....

Thanks again. It turns out it was neither the router nor the iphone's. The printer's needed new firmware. perhaps because of the windows 10 update.

I'm still interested in if beamforming is now solid on this build. I noticed that the default after reset is still off. I was having 5ghz problems with it on before.

My log is getting flooded with these messages....

mDNSNetMonitor: GetLargeResourceRecord: opt 65002 optlen 8 wrong

iDevice or two on your network? mDNS is Bonjour/Rendevous/Avahi - which iTunes and iDevices depend much for intranet/internet services..

If so, this might be useful info for QTN on a fix..

Same here, but just on my AP. Started one hour after it was upgraded and 20 hrs later they still appear, sometimes only a few mins apart, sometimes more than an hour. As sfx says, it's part of Apple's Bonjour services. But not found the cause yet.
