Why Reset? My settings are all still there. Upgrade from 3.0.0.3.162 to 3.0.0.4.220
Then I would telnet into the router and erase the nvram. You flashed from a 32k nvram firmware version to a 64k nvram firmware version. In order for the flash to be successful the nvram has to be completely flushed. Unless you were running Merlin's 162 which is 64k nvram-enabled. Even in that case I would still telnet into the router and erase the nvram to make sure all is well. I am completely anal so I clear the nvram before flashing, use the firmware restoration utility to flash the router in recovery mode and then clear the nvram by powering down the router and then pressing and holding the WPS button while powering the router back up.

Yes! Seems that everything works well... :)

My settings were retained but I flashed from 3.0.0.3.178.16-Beta. Merlin's current version is already 64k NVRAM-enabled so I guess flashing won't flush it out. Guess I will leave it as is and see what happens. If all is well then I will just be happy. If any issues arise then I will erase the NVRAM.

Going from Asuswrt-Merlin to Asuswrt build 220 should be fine without an nvram reset - in theory.

Asus's note was indeed especially for those upgrading from a 32 KB nvram.

Not really happy yet

I won't be truly happy until I can upgrade to 3.0.0.4.220.17. ;)

Once that happens then flashing will be a thing of the past. :D

So you can use BSSID on 2,4 Ghz and 5,0 Ghz at the same time without any MAC overlap conflicts?

Don't know what you exactly mean with BSSID. I can use both bands with 2,4 and 5 GHz clients simultaneously.

You should try that fw and test it...

Okey, I meant guest on both 2,4 and 5 Ghz at the same time. That haven't work before during overlap of mac adresses.

I think it's buggy or i did something wrong.

So I've added a DDNS from dyndns so that I can VPN to the router. On the VPN setup page, after you activate DDNS it would display the DDNS host rather than an IP address, at least it did on a previous FW...i think.

Page where you would modify FTP user access rights, doesnt load up completely.

Download master is giving me troubles, but i think there might be an issue with the HDD, I'll probably just format it and see how it works.

anybody else has issues?

Yup. My USB-drive (Toshiba, 500 MB) is recognized, but stays unmounted. Nothing helps to activate the drive - no rebooting, no power cycling, no emptying nvram. Flashing back to Merlins last build is the remedy needed - now I've decided to wait until we get his ultimate master piece :)

By the way: nvram couldn't be cleared via Telnet or via WebGUI - I had to use the reset button to be able to clear nvram...

What happened when you telnet'd into your router and issued the "mtd-erase -d nvram" command, then? You've got me curious now *smile*.

Thanks.

So has anyone had success with this new major release? I know that generally, only people with issues take the time to post. I'd love to hear from all the folks who installed this new firmware with no problems at all.

You can also clear the NVRAM by powering the router off, pressing and holding the WPS button while powering the router back on. The power LED will blink rapidly indicating that the NVRAM has been reset to factory mode. Turn off the router, let go of the WPS button, turn the router back on and once it reboots you can then reset your configuration. Be advised, you cannot telnet into the router in recovery mode. You must enable telnet and then you can erase the NVRAM with the router running normally.

So far so good for me. AiCloud is working like a charm. No issues, yet...
