Can I temporarily disable the wi-fi capability on an ASUS RT-N66U router?

I’m planning to buy this router. It will be set up in a house where there is a person who is concerned about possible health hazards from wireless radio signals.

While this concern exists, I would use only the wired ethernet connections.

Thank you for your help.

Yes, go to the "Wireless" area in the web admin GUI, and to the "Professional" tab. You can disable the wireless radios there. Don't forget to do it for both 2.4GHz. and 5GHz. bands. Notice at the top of the page that you select the band to be administered there.

Yes, in the settings there's a tab for 2.4 and 5.0 ghz frequencies, "enable radio" then you can just select yes or no, simple as that.

Paul.

Additionally, you can set it to automatically turn the radio on during the day, and off at night in case they ever get any wireless device and still want to limit their exposure to radio waves.

Many thanks

Many thanks to RogerSC, pkbristol and RMerlin for your help with my question about disabling the wi-fi.

There is also a feature (I appreciate very much) which allows you to change the function of the WPS button, so it will disable - enable the wifi raido(s) with a simple button push on the back of the router. I love it!

Why don't they worry about the electromagnetic radiation from the ethernet cables, the TV, and every other electrical device in their abode? Do they use a cell phone?

Personally, I do not pander to the irrational or misinformed. I meet enough of them in my day job.
