New Around Here
Hi,

i new to asuswrt merlin (and Asus router)
I am using Asus rt ac87u with asuswrt merlin 380.65.4

now i have following question:

I have set up openvpn client 1 to connect to nordvpn server(1) this works ok
then i set up client 2 to connect to server(2)
then i turned off client 1 and turned on client 2
Client 2 shows that it is connected but my devices do not connect to VPN
I am using the same policy rules for both clients.

I thought the different client are there to make easy swithching between different vpn servers possible.

Is there anyone here who can shed som light on this .
Am i doing something wrong or does'nt it work this way ?

thanks

Might want to check your firewall rules. I am no expert, but I believe when you define you clients in the policy based section, they will get assigned to a "tun". This will likely be 1, 2, 3 etc.... and if you want the same client to flip flop between two active tunnels, you may need to delete the policy rules, then recreate them on the tunnel you want.

I think the main purpose of having multiple clients was not to let the same clients on your network just hop between them, but more to assign specific clients on your network to specific tunnels. More of a static, not dynamic, approach.
