can't change password on RT-AC66U with firmware 376.49_5

Hi There,
i've upgraded my firmware to the latest available 376.49_5 for my RT-AC66U, and i'm facing a strange issue:
if i change the standard password admin/admin via the question mark on the top right side , after a reboot or a restart, i'm not able anymore to log in.
either with the old one or the new one
i even tried complex or simple, copy/pasting, etc.
it's not a typing issue for sure.
Any idea?
any other one has faced this issue?

Have you tried a simple password without any special characters such as admin123? I discovered a password issue concerning the 5G-WLAN.

yes, I tried very simple one too. but it didn't work.
note that the issue is only for the admin page of the router not the WIFI

What browser are you using? Maybe try a different one.

i'm using Chrome lastest build.
i'll try to upgrade my ASUS firmware to the latest & change the password again.

Interestingly, I had a similar issue last night with a customers RT-AC68U.

Simply shutting down both the desktop computer and the router and starting them staggered 5 minutes apart let me in again, only to have the same thing happen in the middle of checking the settings. The familiar 'your settings have changed' page.

I finally upgraded to the latest 378.50 release of RMerlin firmware and this issue resolved itself.

I also recommend to use anything other than beta browsers. Chrome being the worst in my experience since day one of it's virus like appearance on the planet. lol...
