Can't connect to DS410J

New Around Here
Hi All,

I have problem connecting to DS410J since last Friday. I was copying some files onto the device via shared directory. I have tried to connect via Internet Explorer but no avail. I have run port scan and found the device's TCP 80, 5000, 5001 and 7000 are active but I am unable to ping to it. My device use fixed IP and it is running DSM4.2. The STATUS LED is in steady GREEN while the LAN LED blinks in sets of 5 with short pause.

I am afraid of using the RESET button located near the UTP port for fear that it might not boot up normally.

What has gone wrong? How can I establish connection again?

Please help.

Thank you.

Don't know. The user guide should say what the LED blink rate means. File a ticket with support. Ask on the Synology user forum.

Odds are it will work OK if you just push/hold the power button to force a shutdown. If that doesn't work, gulp, just remove power momentarily. I've had several abrupt loss of power with no ill-effects.

Probably won't work, but you could try Synology Assistant and try accessing it that way.

I have tried press and hold the POWER button for 5 minutes but the beep was never heard. The Synology Assistant reports no NAS was found.

Besides hard power reboot, what else can I try?

Thank you.
