Hi everybody.

I've connected an ext4 HD to my router, usb 2.0, trying to make a samba share. It's a newly formatted drive, so it's empty.

Using an AC-56U with latest merlin firmware and Windows 8.1 pro.

I can set it up fine in the webui, but nothing shows up in windows. It also doesn't work if i manually try to add network drive through windows. (i enter \\192.168.1.1\Sky)

I've tried to format the HD to NTFS too, but that doesn't work either.
My workgroup name in windows and in the asus webui is the same.

Network sharing is enabled in windows and i think the workgroup sharing settings are correct.

I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this further, i'm not really getting any luck through google.. What am I missing?
The image shows my settings in the webui

Did you try rebooting both the router and the computer?

Yes, several times... I finally made it work. The error was on me, I should use "\\sky\data" instead of the router lan ip. It confused me because that method worked with my old linksys router..
