Can't find Firmware Restoration Utility?!

Really? I don't ever remember seeing that, although I'm happy to be proven wrong.

I remember that some of the older firmwares were smaller. These had to be used if the JFFS partitioning had been changed to 32MB, like after installing DD-WRT. But it wasn't a special "restoration-only" version, just an old version.

OK than I probably mean that versions. I remember they wrote only for use with restauration tool, but missed to download one.
Just thaught using such a version could help with my problems.
Do you have a link for it?

There's a folder called ASUS-OEM-CFE that contains RT-AC68U_3.0.0.4_376_3626-g9a8323e.trx. That might be it?

As I said, I've never used it myself.

1. plug USB HDD.
2. Install Download Master through WebUI @ USB Application -> Download Master

I found now such special firmwares again, but only for DSL-types, but they had been in the past for RT-AC68U as well for some versions only (not for all).
They are only a bit smaller and available for all versions: ASUS DSL-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.382_50302 specifically for restoration tool

Could someone please explain the difference between these 2 firmwares?
