Can't find Network Samba USB Share on RT-AC3200 even after updating and resetting

Hey all,

Today I plugged my 8TB WD EasyStore from Black Friday into the USB port on the back of the RT-AC3200. It wasn't showing up at first so I completed the firmware update to 384.3 and did restore factory settings first then initialize factory settings after that just to be sure and I still can't find the Samba share. I have a host of W10 devices all over the apartment and no luck. Any tips on where to start here? I've enabled guest login and also formatted the device via the router page.

Issues I'm seeing:
1) Users are grey'd out and can't be edited, created, or have their permissions changed on the Samba configuration page: https://imgur.com/rK0fK2E

2) Performing a 'scan' on the 'External USB disk status' returns errors on the drive:

Have you tried enabling usb 3 interference reducing in Wireless>Profesional>set "Reducing USB 3.0 interference" to enable.

It's currently set to disabled. I can try to enable it but after reading the setting that sounds like an issue to fix 2.4GHz issues - not USB related ones. And the drive is not running on USB3 but it's defaulted back to USB2.

I know right?.....But it helps mount otherwise un-mountable drives...

The drive is successfully mounted but throwing scanning errors and I'm not sure what the exact network mounting path should be for the drive.

Is it \\RT-AC3200\mount_share_name or is it \\RT-AC3200\partition_name\mount_share_name OR is it \\Device-Name\mount_share_name or \\Device-Name\partition_name\mount_share_name?

EDIT: Changing the USB3 interference setting didn't make the drive appear as USB3 and it didn't solve the scanning errors or the Samba share not popping up.

You did mention it is a 8T drive. I'm not absolutey sure but I don't think that big of a drive is supported. Something tells me the max is 4T. Thus the memory errors during a scan. As far as sharing goes I use smb://rt-ac3100/blahblah
EDIT: If you name the drive it really helps example /tmp/mnt/Your_Drive_Name. This helps to get rid of guessing the mount point as sda1 or whatever.
EDIT2: Use simple file name sharing is a good idea.

That's because you have Guest login enabled.

The drive is too large (or contains too many files) that the router doesn't have enough RAM to check it.

Thank you I did all of the above and fixed all of my issues. I think the key one was enabling SMBA 1.0 support in Windows 10. Thanks a million and sorry for the delayed reply.
