Can't see 5 ghz band using scanner?

I am using inSSIDer for Home & Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector to scan & optimize my Wifi band broadcast.

Using Merlin's 376.45 build on my RT-N66U.

Both scanners cannot see the 5ghz broadcast.
My Win 8.1 PC can't see the 5ghz band as a option.
However, my Nexus 4 Cell fone can see both the 5 & 2.4 bands.

What is happening?

No to both.
I definitely don't hide my SSID on any bands.
Nor use any special characters.

Odd.
I've used these scanners in the past & had no trouble seeing both bands.

Quite possible your laptop isn't a dual band WIFI ...

Quite possible your laptop isn't a dual band WIFI ...

PC not laptop , having said that, I can say that it has never seen the 5 band before.

However, the scanners have seen the 5 band before.
